Western Gold Exploration

Situated in the Kilmelford District of Argyll, Scotland, Lagalochan is a Silurian aged diatreme breccia complex consisting of multiple intrusive phases. The main porphyry mineralisation is of the High K calc-alkaline type similar to Red Chris in BC Canada and Bingham Canyon in USA

There has been historic exploration in the area from 1971, including > 6365m of diamond drilling by BP Minerals International Ltd

Lagalochan porphyry has many different styles of mineralisation similar to Bingham Canyon. These include:

  • Cu-Au ± Mo core-zones
  • Proximal Au rich skarn
  • Epithermal veins
  • Au-Ag quartz-carbonate (inner)
  • Ag-Pb-Zn ± Au carbonate (outer)
