The Lyon application area covers approximately 250 km² of highly prospective ground lying adjacent to the Cononish Gold Mine and in close proximity to the Tyndrum Fault, a known structural conduit that has controlled the distribution of mineralised quartz–gold lode veining.
A tranche of historic exploration data provided by joint venture partners Acrux Gold Limited has been re-analysed and reviewed, further highlighting the strong prospectivity of the area. Key findings include:
Multiple high-grade gold-bearing veins identified across the Lyon area.
827 samples collected historically from drainage, float, and outcrop sources, including:
Float samples up to 136.3 g/t Au
Outcrop grab samples up to 62.4 g/t Au*
Visible gold reported in stream pan concentrates
Backpack drilling (87.8 m across 10 holes) confirmed continuity of gold-bearing structures along strike, indicating potential for a broader mineralised system. Notable intercepts include:
1.0 m @ 25.5 g/t Au and 2.1 m @ 15.3 g/t Au from surface (Coire a’Ghabhalach prospect)
1.0 m @ 25.46 g/t Au from surface (Creag Sheileach prospect)
Historic work focused mainly on the western portion of the licence application area, leaving approximately 150 km² of highly prospective ground underexplored, offering immediate upside potential.
