Western Gold Exploration

Projects Overview

All of Western Gold Exploration’s assets are located in Scotland, within the Caledonian–Appalachian belt — a major mineralised system that stretches from the UK and Ireland through Greenland and Scandinavia to North America. This belt hosts a proven endowment of high-grade orogenic gold, VMS, and critical minerals, making it one of the most attractive exploration corridors in the northern hemisphere. Our Scottish land position lies within the same structural and geological architecture that underpins several tier-one deposits across the belt, providing district-scale discovery potential in a stable, mining-supportive jurisdiction.

Within this setting, our Caledonian Gold Project joint venture covers ground immediately adjacent to the Cononish Gold Mine and lies along strike from the world-class Curraghinalt deposit (>6 Moz Au MII), reinforcing the exceptional prospectivity of the region. Meanwhile, the Lorne Porphyry District showcases geological features comparable to well-known porphyry camps such as Red Chris, Gibraltar, and Schaft Creek in British Columbia. We currently hold, or are in the advanced application phase of, three Crown Estates Mines Royal Options (i.e., exploration licences) for both the Lorne Porphyry Project (Inverliever Licence) and Caledonian Gold Project (Lyon & Orchy applications).
